or a postgraduate professional psychology qualification validated by the Department of Health and Children in Clinical Psychology,
b) have at least eight years satisfactory post graduate experience in the area of professional psychology in which the position is designated inclusive of any time spent in pursuing a course leading to the postgraduate qualification and including at least three years satisfactory experience in a senior capacity.
c) possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
Note: These qualifications take affect from 25 October 2002 but without prejudice to anyone employed in a post of Staff Grade Psychologist or above on that date in the Irish Public Health Service to whom the qualification requirements for Principal Psychologist in place at 22nd January, 2002 shall apply.
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
